What AI Is Actually Good For

It does not charge by the hour and it does not make you feel silly for asking.

Preparing questions for your lawyer. The better prepared you are before a call with your Spanish property lawyer, the more useful that call is. I would use AI to understand a topic before our meetings, which meant I could ask more specific and useful questions.

Making sense of documents. A Spanish document translated word for word by Google Translate is confusing. AI can take a roughly translated clause and explain what it actually means in plain language and what questions to raise with your lawyer about it.

What AI Cannot Replace

It cannot review your specific arras contract and tell you whether the exit clauses are in your interest, or whether the seller's lawyer has included unusual provisions. That requires a qualified Spanish property lawyer reading your actual document.

Due diligence. AI cannot check the land registry for debts registered against your specific property. It cannot obtain a community fee certificate from an urbanisation in Mijas. The legal investigation of a property is a professional service that requires local access, local knowledge, and legal authority.
